Derek Simango is a seasoned reinsurance professional who has been in the reinsurance industry for more than 10 years. He joined MUKFIN
in 2021 as Business Development Manager after a history of working with FBC Reinsurance, ZB Reinsurance as senior underwriter and Grand Reinsurance as both Business Development Manager and Branch Manager. As a team player and a leader, during his spells he managed to impact each of the above listed companies to reinsurance industry leading positions, which is a testament of his committed work ethic.

He has also served as the Insurance Institute of Harare President in 2015 improving the visibility and involvement of the institution and its stakeholders at the time. His passion for creativity and business networking resulted in him acquiring a Fundamentals of Digital Marketing Certificate with Google. He holds a BCom (Hons) Insurance and Risk Management degree with the Midlands State University (MSU).

He is currently completing his Diploma with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and has enrolled for his MBA specializing in Big Data with The International
University of Applied Sciences – Germany. He brings in a wealth of insurance regional market knowledge, marketing acumen and a drive for business growth.
