Simba Mukonzo is an entrepreneur, seasoned reinsurance expert, and training facilitator with 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance space. He is the founder and director of Mukoma Financial Services (MUKFIN), an insurance and
reinsurance intermediary firm based in Johannesburg that plays a significant role in placing large facultative risks and specialized classes of business as well as treaty
business. Simba has over 23 years of work experience in the reinsurance sector, starting in 2001 as an intern.

He then held various responsibility positions at FBC Reinsurance Company, New National Assurance Company, and Emeritus Reinsurance Company. Simba founded MUKFIN in 2017 to create an Afro-centric broker that provides global risk solutions. Simba is also the founder and subject-matter expert for Entwise Training and Consulting, a skills development company focusing on insurance and reinsurance training in Africa.

His passion for enhancing the insurance sector in Africa through skills develop¬ment is evident in his support for training initiatives across various institutions. Simba’s close collaboration with the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA), Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ), Insurance Institute of Botswana (IIB), and other independent companies is a testament to his dedication to delivering high-quality insurance and reinsurance training.

His role as a Committee Mem¬ber of the IISA Membership Committee and the IISA CPD Committee further underscores his commitment to skills development. Simba is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA). He holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce Honors Degree (Bcom Hons) in Insurance and Risk Management. He also holds the IISA Programme in Advanced Insurance Practice and the Programme in Risk Management, both with UNISA, and a Marketing Diploma from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM).
